Yiwu's photovoltaic industry exported 15.21 billion yuan ($2.25 billion) in solar cells and other products from January to June this year, an increase of 336.3 percent over the same period last year, according to official data from Yiwu Customs on July 19.

Trina Solar, a solar panel manufacturer located in the Light Source Technology Town in Suxi town, Yiwu, reported a more than 2.2-fold annual increase on its exports of photovoltaic products such as solar cells and modules in the first six months of 2022, amounting to about 5.87 billion yuan.

According to the company, with support from Yiwu Customs, its production lines were able to operate normally in spite of recent COVID-19 waves and changes in international policies related to photovoltaic product imports.

Workers at Yiwu Customs noted that the policies of major countries and regions for exporting photovoltaic products have changed frequently this year, including the United States, the EU and India. Yiwu Customs collected information on relevant industry policy changes and informed enterprises in a timely manner to help them formulate responses.

In addition, Yiwu Customs provided guidance and support to help local enterprises make full use of the benefits brought about by the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and reduce their export costs.
