At the Yiwu General Merchandise Fair and Cup, Pot and Tableware Fair running from July 24 to 26, deals worth a total of 658 million yuan ($97.46 million) were signed, according to organizers.

A total of 1,200 international standard booths were set up at the fair, covering an area of 25,000 square meters. Over 800 source factories from all over the country participated in the event.

The exhibits featured all kinds of general merchandise, including stainless steel kitchen supplies, ceramic products, cups and pots, bamboo and wood products, plastic products, cleaning supplies, racks, small household appliances, and hardware. The three-day fair attracted a total of 42,490 buyers and visitors.

According to organizers of the fair, the first day of the event saw about 10,000 buyers on site, making deals worth over 300 million yuan.

Liu Jincao, an exhibitor from Langfang, Hebei province, said he would like to attract new buyers for his folding chair, which has an appearance patent and a utility model patent.

Zhang Hongli from Taizhou, Zhejiang province, said he has received about 20 orders of cups with large capacity in two days. One of the orders requires 3,000 cups, said Zhang.

A special comprehensive exhibition area was set up at the fair to display the products of over 80 companies that cannot participate in the event on site. In addition, organizers arranged for workers to help them communicate with buyers online.
