Yiwu-made professional footballs for the 17th Games of Zhejiang Province were put into use in recent days.

The footballs were produced by Yiwu Aokai Sports Goods Co, a local company capable of producing about 800 footballs per day.

In 2019, after leading specifications and requirements for professional footballs for the Provincial Games, the company started to design and make customized balls. In April, the company was recognized as the official football supplier of the 17th Games of Zhejiang Province. So far, more than 2,000 footballs have been sent for use in games.

Wu Xiaoming, founder of the company, said he would like to do his part to support the provincial games, which is being hosted for the first time in a city in central or western Zhejiang. Wu has also taken the event as an opportunity to promote his company as a professional football producer.

Yiwu Aokai Sports Goods Co is one of the largest sports production enterprises in China. It produces and sells more than 2 million ball products with various specifications annually.

The company formulated and released "competition football" standards for products made in Zhejiang in August 2021, aiming to improve their product quality and promote the development of football.

Wu said that the company will build a professional football testing laboratory to measure the technology and quality of footballs in terms of resilience, strength and water absorption.
