Major e-commerce platforms have released measures to help ease the burden on online shopkeepers of Yiwu, East China's Zhejiang province, as most of them have been impacted by a recent outbreak of COVID-19 epidemic.

The Yiwu market development committee has taken on the responsibility of negotiating with major e-commerce platforms such as Taobao, Tmall, Pinduoduo, JD.com, Douyin, Kuaishou, Shopee, LAZADA, and AliExpress, requiring exemptions from various punishments for online shopkeepers in Yiwu who fail to send out goods within the agreed time.

The relevant regulations issued by the Shopee showed that from Aug 11 to Aug 15, for orders affected by the epidemic in Yiwu, the platform will temporarily not cancel orders that have been confirmed for shipping but have not arrived on time, and sellers do not need to apply for extensions on orders.

The LAZADA announced that orders stranded in Yiwu's warehouses will be delivered as soon as logistics recover. Packages on the way to Yiwu will be sent to warehouses in Shenzhen for further distribution.
