Jinhua sees remarkable accomplishments over the past 10 years

Jinhua in East China's Zhejiang province has achieved remarkable accomplishments since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012, local government officials announced at a recent news conference.

Jinhua's GDP had grown at an average annual growth rate of 7.4 percent over the last decade, from 268.9 billion yuan ($38.58 billion) in 2012 to 535.5 billion yuan in 2021, making it one of the top 40 cities in the country in terms of comprehensive strength.

The city's R&D investment intensity had increased from 1.56 percent in 2012 to 2.26 percent in 2021. Presently, the city has more than 1,800 high-tech enterprises, a nine-fold increase from 10 years ago.

Over the past decade, the per capita disposable income of urban residents in Jinhua increased from 33,000 yuan to 67,000 yuan, while the per capita disposable income of rural residents increased from 15,000 yuan to 34,000 yuan. In addition, the income gap between urban and rural residents was narrowed from 2.21 to 2.

In 2021, the growth rate of the added value of the city's digital economy, manufacturing, high-end equipment manufacturing, strategic emerging industries, and high-tech industries were ranked first among all regions in Zhejiang.

The proportion of Jinhua's service industry in GDP has increased to 56 percent, and the express delivery volume is the highest in the country. The city's film and television live-action shooting base is also the largest in the world - one out of every three TV dramas in the country is shot in Hengdian, Jinhua.

In 2021, the value of the city's foreign trade exports exceeded 500 billion yuan, accounting for 2.5 percent of the country's total, while its foreign trade strength climbed to 18th place in the country.

The number of commodity trading markets in Jinhua, which has trade relations with 232 countries and regions around the world, now stands at 234.

In 2021, Jinhua had imports worth 55.37 billion yuan, the highest in the province in terms of growth rate.

Jinhua is a national logistics hub city for production services and commerce and trade services. Its freight lines reach 320 large and medium-sized cities across the country, and its logistics network covers the world.
