Yiwu's express business income totaled 16.1 billion yuan ($2.27 billion) from January to August, a year-on-year increase of 9.5 percent, according to data released by the Yiwu post bureau on Sept 19.

The business volume of express service enterprises in the city reached 57.42 billion pieces during this period.

In August, the business volume of express service enterprises in the city exceeded 603.13 million pieces, generating an income of 1.59 billion yuan.

From January to August, the city's postal industry business income, excluding the direct operating income of the Postal Savings Bank of China, amounted to 17.25 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12 percent. The total business income stood at 42.25 billion yuan, an uptick of 1.2 percent year-on-year.
