The East Market of Yiwu International Trade Market Area 2, a new area of the trade market, is expected to become the first market of new energy products in China, according to local media outlets.

The new market is located on the east side of Area F of the Yiwu International Trade Market Area 2. With a construction area of about 131,000 square meters, the market has 490 stores on the first and second floors, and 1,400 parking spaces on the two underground floors and the fourth and fifth floors. There are two corridors connecting the East Market and the existing Area 2.

The East Market of Area 2 will house merchants mainly engaged in new energy, home furnishings and hardware.

New energy (solar energy) products have become an important part of daily commodities. Over 600 merchants on the second and third floors of Area 2 are selling electrical products, including small electronic household appliances.

Officials of the Yiwu International Trade Market said that new energy products are deeply integrated with daily necessities, outdoor products, and electrical industries, and include solar charging lights, flashlights, energy storage batteries, and portable solar powered equipment. With the new market, these products can be found and sent overseas more easily.

The new market has applied various new technologies such as big data, internet of things, artificial intelligence and blockchains in order to realize intelligent market service, market operation and property management.
