Gangyao village, located about five kilometers from Yiting town, Yiwu, is striving to achieve rural revitalization through tourism and digital reform.
People living in the village started to make pottery in the Han Dynasty (202 BC - 220 AD) and named the village Gangyao. Fine pottery techniques have also been passed down through the generations.
There is still an ancient building complex in the village. Chen Yuejun, Party secretary of Gangyao village, said that they have been making efforts toward environmental improvement, road renovation, old house construction, cultural excavation, image promotion, and activity organization to attract visitors.
With pottery-making culture at its core, the village has extended its industrial chain - an old factory has been renovated into a cultural and creative park and a research and study base. It has received 15,200 visitors for research and study activities in the past year. It is expected to bring in nearly 200,000 yuan ($27,677.42) in income each year for the village.

In addition, digital construction has expanded the boundaries of rural public services in the village. Digitization work is expected to serve four groups of people, including the elderly, children, youth, and tourists, with telemedicine, online study and online tourism.
The village's digital health service station is equipped with a series of intelligent equipment to provide pre-examination and triage work, telemedicine services and initial diagnosis and treatment.
