Residents of Yiwu in East China's Zhejiang province and Zhenxiong county in Southwest China's Yunnan province can now access a number of administrative service items in each other's cities, as authorities have integrated such services, according to local media reports.

The first batch of 166 administrative items, including identity certificates, social security, medical insurance, driver's licenses, and business registration, can be handled under the agreement.

Officials have said that although Yiwu and Zhenxiong are far away geographically, the two sides carry out frequent economic and trade exchanges. More than 10,000 people from Zhenxiong have started businesses or worked in Yiwu.

Yiwu has in recent years been promoting the inter-provincial handling of frequently processed administrative services. To date, the city has reached agreements with 38 cities inside and outside Zhejiang to facilitate the handling of high-demand government services.
