Yiwu sees robust foreign trade in Jan-Oct

The foreign trade value of Yiwu, a county-level city in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, rose 27.8 percent year on year to 397.87 billion yuan ($55.56 billion) in the first ten months of this year, statistics from Yiwu Customs show.

Statistics show that Yiwu's foreign trade in Jan-Oct exceeded the city's total foreign trade value in 2021.  

Specifically, exports of mechanical and electrical products in Yiwu from January to October increased 30.9 percent year on year to 141.27 billion yuan, accounting for 39.2 percent of the city's total export value.

Meanwhile, mechanical and electrical imports were valued at 5.12 billion yuan, up 111.6 percent year on year.

From January to October, the city's foreign trade with Africa, Latin America, the European Union, the United States and ASEAN increased 8.5 percent, 28.3 percent, 56.4 percent, 49.4 percent, and 8.8 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, imports and exports to and from India and the United Arab Emirates rose by 52.7 percent and 57.9 percent to 20.61 billion yuan and 11.17 billion yuan.

Imports and exports between Yiwu and Belt and Road countries reached 149.19 billion yuan, up 16.6 percent year on year.
