Yiwu, Haenam-gun establish friendly relations

Yiwu, East China's Zhejiang province, signed an online memorandum with Haenam-gun, South Korea to establish friendly relationss on Nov 24.
The two sides will firstly carry out cooperation in trade, culture, tourism, and talent, and further expand cooperation accordingly, according to the agreement.
Zhang Chenggang, consul general of the Consulate General of China in Gwangju, attended the online signing ceremony and offered his congratulations.
According to Zhang, as this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea, the establishment of friendly relations between the two cities is meaningful, as it brings new impetus to the development of bilateral relations and local exchanges between the two countries.
Haenam-gun is home to the most arable land of any city in South Korea. It has a long history and developed agriculture and fishing industries, as well as great potential for cooperation with Yiwu.
In November 2021, Yiwu joined hands with 10 city agencies in South Korea, including Haenam-gun, to promote trade between the two countries.
Yiwu, known as China's small commodities hub, has established friendly relations with 34 cities in 20 countries on five continents.
