Locals in Fotang Ancient Town, Yiwu have been busy preparing for the coming Chinese New Year in recent days.

A Spring Festival Shopping Festival kicked off in Fotang town on Jan 11, with more than 60 shops selling New Year pictures, Spring Festival couplets, lanterns, dried fruits, roasted nuts, flowers and other Spring Festival supplies.

In celebration of the Year of the Rabbit, many Spring Festival decorations are mixed with images of rabbits and the Chinese character "Fu" (福) to send blessings for the upcoming new year.

The shopping festival will run until Jan 21, featuring various kinds of Spring Festival couplets and paper-cuttings for window decorations.
