Republic of Trinidad and Tobago ambassador visits Yiwu

Analisa Low, ambassador of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to China, visited Yiwu, Zhejiang province from April 28 to 29.
On April 29, Low attended the 2023 World Yiwu Convention and gave a speech on the economic relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and Yiwu.
Yiwu, known as the world's hub for small commodities, has seen a rapid increase in trade with Trinidad and Tobago in recent years. In 2022, total bilateral trade between the two countries reached $32.74 million, an increase of 17.67 percent from the previous year.
Ambassador Low expressed hope for deeper cooperation between Trinidad and Tobago and Yiwu in various fields.

During her visit, the Trinidad and Tobago delegation also visited the picturesque Lizu village. They toured the village's historic buildings, learned about traditional tie-dyeing techniques, sampled pear paste candies made using ancient methods, and listened to folk artists playing the traditional three-stringed instrument.
Ambassador Low also talked with young local entrepreneurs in the agricultural industry and experienced Yiwu's unique charm that attracts entrepreneurs from all over the world.
