At a foreigner-owned restaurant located in Yiwu's 158 Creative Park, law enforcement officers conducted routine supervision work alongside several newly appointed foreign food safety inspectors on June 8.
The initiative represents another pioneering effort by Yiwu, an international city, to use foreign volunteers as food safety supervisors to reinforce food safety regulations at international dining establishments.
In Choucheng subdistrict, there are 35 restaurants owned by foreigners from 16 different countries and regions. The first batch of supervisors includes eight individuals from a variety of countries, including Iran, India, and Turkey.

These supervisors are enthusiastic about public welfare, possess extensive restaurant management experience, communicate fluently, and exhibit a strong sense of responsibility. They are willing to contribute their efforts to uphold food safety in foreigner-owned restaurants, improve the dining experience at foreigner-owned restaurants, and optimize the overall business environment.
As the world's hub of small commodities, Yiwu attracts over 500,000 overseas merchants every year, with more than 13,000 foreign merchants from over 100 countries and regions residing in Yiwu permanently.
This convergence of diverse cultures and myriad demands has also turned Yiwu into a culinary paradise where one can savor a wide array of international cuisines, presenting new challenges to the city's management of food safety.
