Yiwu express volume up 13.1 percent in Jan-May

A total of 4.19 billion packages were delivered or shipped in Yiwu from January to May this year, representing a year-on-year growth rate of 14.5 percent, local media reported on June 26.

In May alone, 970 million packages were handled in Yiwu, a year-on-year growth of 8.9 percent.

From January to May, there were 200 million domestic package deliveries in the city, a remarkable increase of 29.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

A total of 3.59 billion packages were delivered to other regions, a year-on-year growth of 12.3 percent. Furthermore, 16.42 million packages were delivered to international or cross-border destinations, including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, an increase of 32.9 percent.

Yiwu, known as a global trading hub, has been witnessing a surge in e-commerce and international trade activity. The city's efficient logistics infrastructure and the dedication of postal service providers have played a crucial role.

The Yiwu Postal Administration, in collaboration with postal companies and logistics partners, has been implementing measures to ensure smooth and timely delivery.

Efforts are being made to optimize the delivery network, enhance sorting and distribution processes, and improve last-mile delivery services.
