Wang Jian, Party secretary of Yiwu, met with Panyaza Lesufi, governor of Gauteng province, South Africa on June 23.
Wang provided a brief introduction to the economic and social development of Yiwu. He emphasized that Yiwu is a city full of unlimited business opportunities, an open city integrated into the global market, and a vibrant entrepreneurial city. Over the years, Yiwu has maintained close exchanges with South African business and trade personnel.
Wang stated that Yiwu will fully leverage its own strengths, actively integrate into the overall framework of Sino-African exchange and cooperation, and strengthen cooperation with South Africa in economy, trade, and culture. The goal is to continuously promote the development of Sino-African trade and enhance relations between the two countries.
Lesufi praised Yiwu as a renowned global hub for small commodities. He said that they chose Yiwu as the first stop on their visit to Zhejiang province, hoping that this visit will serve as an opportunity to further expand the scope of bilateral exchanges, enrich the content of interactions, and achieve new results in cooperation between the two sides in areas such as economy, trade, energy, education, and healthcare.
