Yiwu achieves 9.1 percent GDP growth in 2023 first half

The Yiwu municipal bureau of statistics announced on July 25 that in the first half of 2023, Yiwu's GDP reached 912.35 billion yuan ($127.45), a year-on-year growth of 9.1 percent.

The first industry increased by 4.7 percent to 11.42 billion yuan, the second industry grew by 7.1 percent to 267.72 billion yuan, and the third industry achieved a 10 percent growth, reaching 633.21 billion yuan.

Yiwu’s total imports and exports were valued at about 2.69 trillion yuan, a growth of 21 percent year-on-year. Exports were valued at 2.37 trillion yuan, a 17 percent increase year-on-year, while imports surged by 63.5 percent to 315.6 billion yuan.

The number of market entities in Yiwu grew as well, reaching 982,700, a growth rate of 16.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

Yiwu residents also saw an increase in disposable income. The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents reached 43,828 yuan, with urban residents' income at 47,982 yuan, up 5.3 percent year-on-year, and rural residents' income at 29,050 yuan, up 6.6 percent year-on-year.
