A batch of frozen ribbonfish imported from Malaysia cleared customs supervision at the Yiwu Comprehensive Bonded Zone on Aug 14. It was the bonded zone’s first cold chain import operation.
The consignment, comprising a total of 11 tons of frozen ribbonfish imported from Malaysia by Yiwu Taihua Import Co, holds a combined value exceeding $160,000.
Taihua Company specializes in aquatic products, distributing them to places such as Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Anhui, and Fujian. Sending the goods to the Yiwu Comprehensive Bonded Zone's warehouse has multiple advantages.
On one hand, the company benefits from preferential bonded warehousing, allowing for stockpiling during peak seasons and alleviating financial constraints. On the other hand, leveraging the strategic location and convenient transportation links of the bonded zone, the goods are expediently dispatched, leading to a 30-percent reduction in turnover time.

Following the launch of cold chain imports, frozen seafood products, including various types of fish, shrimp, crab, and shellfish from Southeast Asia, Australia, and other nations and regions, can now be efficiently transported via sea and air cold chain logistics directly to Yiwu.
This approach significantly curtails intermediate import distribution links, resulting in substantial savings in both time and costs. It allows Yiwu residents access to fresher imported aquatic products, catering to demand for imported frozen seafood in neighboring markets.
