Strong momentum in Yiwu's trade with G20 countries
G20 member countries play a pivotal role in Yiwu's foreign trade, making them crucial trade partners for Yiwu, local media reported on Sept 15.
The GDP of G20 member countries accounts for approximately 85 percent of the global total, and their trade represents over 75 percent of the world's total trade.
According to Yiwu Customs, in the first seven months of this year, the total value of Yiwu’s imports and exports reached 321.1 billion yuan ($44.24 billion), marking a year-on-year increase of 19.7 percent.
Yiwu's imports and exports with G20 member countries has reached 165.36 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 21.8 percent and accounting for 51.5 percent of the city's total imports and exports.
Trade with India also grew, with imports and exports totaling 15.39 billion yuan, up 11.3 percent year-on-year.
Indonesia, another G20 member and the largest economy in ASEAN, is a significant export destination for Yiwu's small commodities.
In August of this year, Yiwu arranged for 41 companies to participate in the 2023 Indonesia Gift Fair in Jakarta.
In addition, the 2023 Indonesia Stationery Exhibition, the first overseas self-organized exhibition by the Yiwu Market Industry Chamber, will be held from Nov 30 to Dec 2 in Jakarta.
