Yiwu forest product fair bears fruit

The transaction volume reached 1.09 billion yuan ($149.58 million) at the 16th China Yiwu International Forest Products Fair in Yiwu, Zhejiang province, which concluded on Nov 4.
Foreign trade transactions amounted to 261 million yuan, accounting for 23.97 percent of the total.
A total of 83,000 business people from China and 14 other countries including Yemen, Afghanistan and Iraq attended the fair.
The fair, which was held both online and onsite, displayed more than 100,000 forest-related products by 1,736 exhibitors from 19 provinces.
The fair's online platform offered nearly 3,859 products by 832 companies and received 4.2 million views during the event.
The online exhibition will continue to run, allowing exhibitors and buyers to conduct online trading and negotiations throughout the year, according to the organizer.
The event has been held every year since its establishment in 2008 and has seen over 21,200 enterprises from more than 40 countries and regions exhibit products and received 3.76 million buyers from over 100 countries and regions.
