Yiwu's foreign trade up 22% in Q1-3
Yiwu's imports and exports were valued at 432.1 billion yuan ($59.36 billion) in the first three quarters of this year, a year-on-year increase of 22 percent, according to statistics from Yiwu Customs.
Exports stood at 383.13 billion yuan, an increase of 18.9 percent compared to the same period last year, while imports amounted to 48.97 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 52.8 percent.
Yiwu accounted for 11.7 percent of all imports in the province, 14.1 percent of exports, and 5.0 percent of imports, increases of 1.6, 1.7, and 1.5 percentage points, respectively.
The city's trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative was valued at 264.99 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.8 percent. Its foreign trade with Africa and Latin America reached 79.35 billion yuan and 68.24 billion yuan, respectively, year-on-year increases of 32.6 percent and 31.6 percent.
Yiwu's trade with India and Saudi Arabia reached 21.75 billion yuan and 10.86 billion yuan, respectively, year-on-year increases of 18.9 percent and 55.6 percent.
