Yiwu hosts import trade promotion conference at CIIE
Yiwu held an import trade promotion conference on Nov 7 on the sidelines of the ongoing 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which began on Nov 5 and will run until Nov 10.
Sheng Qiuping, deputy minister of Commerce, noted at the conference that Yiwu has in recent years made significant strides in optimizing its market environment, improving government services, and promoting innovation integration, which has injected new vitality and energy into the innovative development of commodity markets.
Sheng expressed hope that Yiwu will be at the forefront of leading greening, intelligentization, and fashion, making its products truly cost-effective and best-sellers worldwide.
Authorities outlined Yiwu companies attending the business event, noting that more than 2,200 companies and 4,300 buyers have registered for the expo.
They also gave a brief introduction to the upcoming 2023 Yiwu Imported Commodities Fair scheduled from Nov 13 to 15 and promoted its demonstration area for import trade.
Twenty-one projects with a combined investment of $2 billion were secured, covering consumer goods, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, technology equipment, food, and agricultural products.
