Yiwu works to establish commercial logistics nodes
Yiwu in Zhejiang province has over the past 10 years been making efforts to create commercial logistics nodes for the Belt and Road Initiative.
Yiwu has opened 19 Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe freight train routes since it opened the first route in 2014, connecting 160 cities in more than 50 countries involved in the initiative.
The Yiwu platform has operated over 6,300 China-Europe freight trains, transporting more than 520,000 containers.
The city has also established 210 warehouses in more than 50 countries, which connect 221 countries and regions worldwide.
In the first three quarters of this year, Yiwu exported a total of 297.06 billion yuan ($41.02 billion) in goods through market procurement trade, a growth rate of 23.5 percent. This accounts for 77.5 percent of the city's total exports and 92.7 percent of the city's overall export growth.
These logistics nodes will be key to helping micro, small and medium-sized enterprises export goods at a lower cost and higher efficiency, said a representative of the Yiwu Bureau of Commerce.
