An additional five residential communities from Yiwu have been included in the provincial "future community" program, according to a circular published by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on Dec 4.
The communities will focus on improving elderly care services, optimizing child-friendly services, and enhancing the functionality of comprehensive service facilities in the community, aiming to raise the overall quality of community life.

Jinhua currently has 24 such communities, accounting for more than 30 percent of the total in the city's urban areas.
The concept of a "future community", which was mentioned in a provincial government report released in 2019, refers to an urban development project that aims to make cities more people-oriented, environmentally-friendly and digitalized.
