A batch of fresh durians from the Philippines arrived at Yiwu Airport on Dec 26. After being inspected by Yiwu Customs, they were quickly transported to fruit markets. This was the first time that the Yiwu airport has imported fresh durians.
"We were always worried about clearance speed. Imported durians have strict requirements for storage and transportation conditions. They can easily spoil if not handled carefully," said Chen Hengde, general manager of Yiwu Guqin Import and Export Co Ltd, the importer of the durians.
Yiwu Customs has set up a green channel for fruit imports, providing fast clearance for the fruits and making it more convenient to import them.
Yiwu Customs plans to continue optimizing the port business environment and improve customs clearance.
