The Yiwu market development commission reported that in 2023, Yiwu professional exhibition halls hosted 51 exhibitions of various types, occupying a total area of 1.04 million square meters, up 264 percent year-on-year and marking the first time the number has exceeded 1 million square meters.

The first exhibition of 2023 was the 17th National Artificial Flower, Wedding Props and Festive Supplies Fair, while a spring frame painting exhibition, hardware fair, gift fair, stationery fair, and other large-scale exhibitions followed in Yiwu. New technologies, products, trends, and ideas attracted many merchants seeking to forge partnerships and buy products.

Yiwu aims to become a world-class exhibition city, using the exhibition platform to bring together resources, carry out trade, and promote local economy and industrial upgrading. Yiwu also issued policies to support and encourage original and high-quality exhibitions as well as improve the quality and efficiency of the exhibition industry.

An official of the Yiwu market development commission said that this year Yiwu will introduce more high-quality exhibition projects and build more internationally-influential exhibition brands.
