Established in 2015, the Yiwu Half Marathon faced disruptions in 2021 and 2022 due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. However, marking a comeback on November 25, 2023, the event reclaimed its status with fervor.

Last year's edition, featuring the participation of 15,000 marathon enthusiasts from 28 countries and regions, witnessed record-breaking performances by both male and female runners.

As the Chinese New Year draws closer, the Yiwu Half Marathon organizing committee is already preparing for this year's edition.

A representative of the organizing committee said the 2024 Yiwu Half Marathon will adhere to the standards of World Athletics' Gold Label and Elite Label events, further enhancing organizational benchmarks to provide marathon enthusiasts with an elevated experience.
