As the Chinese New Year approaches, buyers from across the country flock to Yiwu International Trade Market to procure the latest offerings for the Year of the Dragon.

To cater to this festive fervor, many merchants in Yiwu also kick off discount promotions, attracting numerous visitors eager to purchase Chinese New Year goods.

With the peak season for Chinese New Year shopping in full swing, Yiwu's markets have launched the "Prosperous Year, Joyful Shopping" series of activities from Jan 20th onwards.

The six major markets spanning Yiwu International Trade Market zones 1 to 5, along with the Huangyuan Clothing Market, are hosting carnival shopping festivals, enticing buyers from all over to come and profit in Yiwu.

Yiwu International Trade Market boasts nearly 150,000 types of goods from over 100 countries and regions, covering food, beverages, baby products, cosmetics, daily necessities, household items, kitchenware, and more, with over 70 percent being sourced directly from manufacturers.

As Chinese New Year approaches, each shop is offering promotions, making it a prime destination for both locals and tourists to purchase imported goods. As the main venue for this joint exhibition, the Import Pavilion of Yiwu International Trade Market zone 5 was crowded with buyers early in the morning under the theme "Shop for Global Goodies, Welcome the Auspicious Dragon Year."

Dozens of Chinese and foreign performers, dressed in traditional Chinese attires, formed dragon lantern processions to celebrate the Year of the Dragon, distributing random gifts such as dragon-themed dolls, couplets, gold ingot candies, and blessings to passing buyers.
