Yiwu welcomes Year of Dragon with dazzling light displays
As the Lunar New Year draws near, Yiwu has been adorned with festive lights. Large red lanterns have been hung on the main roads, and people can feel the joy of the new year in every corner.
The most eye-catching feature is the 17 groups of huge light displays around Xiuhu Lake Square and Xiuhu Park. The centerpiece is a 13-meter-high and 22-meter-wide light display of four dragons climbing on a vase, symbolizing prosperity and happiness.
The light displays also showcase the themes of Yiwu's small commodity market, the 12 zodiac animals, the mountain scenery, and the celebration of the new year. They will be fully opened to the public at the end of January.
