Yiwu welcomes over 750,000 tourists during Spring Festival

Yiwu, a county-level city of Jinhua in Zhejiang province, celebrated the Year of the Dragon with various cultural and tourism activities that attracted many visitors. According to the Yiwu municipal bureau of culture, radio, television, tourism and sports, from Feb 9 to 18, the city's tourist attractions received 751,400 tourists, a 195.76 percent increase from last year, and earned 22.5 million yuan ($3.12 million) in tourism revenue, a whopping 101.23 percent increase.
The most popular scenic spots in the city included Fotang Ancient Town, Shuanglin Scenic Area, Lizu Village, and Mafan Park. During the Spring Festival, Fotang Old Street had an average daily passenger flow of more than 30,000, reaching a peak of 36,000.
Yiwu also held the 2024 Xiuhu Lantern Festival, which featured 17 groups of beautiful and realistic lanterns in Xiuhu Square and Xiuhu Park. Moreover, Yiwu hung more than 2,000 red lanterns in major urban parks, creating a festive atmosphere.
