Yiwu introduces new export pathway

ezhejiang.gov.cn| Updated :2024-03-27

Two fully loaded containers carrying "Made in China" products were recently sealed after consolidation at the Yiwu railway port and transported via a sea-rail intermodal train to the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port.

From there, the containers will be shipped to the Port of Umm Qasr in Iraq, marking the successful launch of the "consolidation warehouse + sea-rail" export channel in Yiwu, Jinhua, Zhejiang province.

This new mode incorporates a "inspect before shipment" supervision process, a "one container, multiple bills" combined declaration process, and digital supervision with complete traceability throughout the entire journey.

These features prevent issues such as random inspections for individual shipments, container detentions, and secondary packing, catering to the diverse export needs of various supervision models. The service has already benefited over 500 market entities, serving export destinations in more than 30 countries and regions.

Under this model, export enterprises can directly access empty containers from the railway port's container yard, eliminating the need to travel to Ningbo for container pick-up. The Yiwu railway port currently has access to empty container resources from 17 shipping companies, significantly reducing logistics costs for enterprises.

Since the beginning of this year, the Yiwu railway port's sea-rail intermodal transportation has dispatched a total of 19,724 TEUs of heavy containers, marking a 4.78 percent year-on-year increase.
