As the Paris Olympics 2024 near, Yiwu is already buzzing with excitement. The city's exports to France soared by 42 percent in the first two months of the year, with exports of sports goods jumping by 70.5 percent.

Yiwu International Trade Market is a hive of activity, with an array of sports equipment and Olympic-themed merchandise on display.

Retailer Zhou Jian, representing Double Fish table tennis balls for the Paris Olympics, noted a surge in demand for official Olympic products.

The Olympic effect has rippled beyond sports goods, with items like silicone wristbands emblazoned with "PARIS 2024" flying off the shelves, with sales increasing by 30 percent. The city's craft and decoration shops are also sporting French and Olympic elements, with trophies and medals in high demand.

Yiwu's toy exports, including Olympic-themed toys, saw a 45-percent increase in the first two months.

The city's merchants are also stocking up on overseas warehouses, ready to ship directly to international customers upon order.
