The Glinka Boys Choir, Russia's esteemed national treasure, graced the Yiwu Culture Square Theater on April 18. It was the choir's fourth stop in China.

Their performance, featuring pristine voices and Russian classics, drew an international crowd, including many Russian residents, who were left longing for more.

Affiliated with the historic Glinka Choir College, the choir has been performing in Russia for over half a millennium. Now, they tour globally, performing at prestigious venues and celebrating the 75th anniversary of Sino-Russian diplomatic ties with their first Chinese tour across 12 cities.

The concert embodied Russian musical history through Tchaikovsky's works and folk songs, culminating in a transcultural finale.

In addition, the Hangben Choir, which comprises young vocal enthusiasts in Yiwu, joined the Russians to sing Jasmine Flower and Katyusha, blending traditions in an ode to the nations' histories.

Local children from seven schools prepared tirelessly for the collaboration. "Performing with the Russian choir was an honor. The rigorous rehearsals paid off, and we're proud of our performance," said choir members Huang Chenze and Zhu Jiahe, hoping for continued cultural exchanges to further strengthen the deep-rooted Sino-Russian friendship.
