Tongji ZheJiang College (TZC) in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, ranked 10th among independent colleges in China on the 2020 China Independent College Ranking, seven places higher than the previous year, local media reported on Jan 12.

The 2020 China Independent College Ranking, published by university evaluation website cuaa.net, was based on nine evaluation indexes, including teaching and education quality, high-level talent, high-end scientific research achievements, scientific research projects, and global influence. It is considered the most comprehensive evaluation system in China.

Cuaa.net is a website run by the Chinese University Alumni Association (CUAA). The CUAA was founded in 1989 by a group of senior specialists in information technology and data analysis. It has carried out research on Chinese universities for almost 30 years.

The website has released a list of China's top 100 universities since 2003, and it has become one of the most authoritative lists for high school graduates.

Since last year, TZC has been promoting the development of core professional courses. Various measures have been taken to develop high-quality disciplines, and cooperative projects with foreign countries such as the Sino-German Automotive Vocational Education have been carried out, with seven students from TZC obtaining a double degree in both China and Germany.

TZC has also made breakthroughs in provincial scientific research projects and has obtained 20 grant patents. It has established cooperative relationships with nine overseas colleges and universities in recent years, and signed agreements with more than 50 high schools in Zhejiang to jointly cultivate high-level talent.

Over the past year, students from TZC have volunteered at events like the World Internet Conference and the National Games for Persons with Disabilities, improving TZC's international reputation.
