Work on 42 key provincial-level projects in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, had resumed as of Feb 18, according to local media reports.

This figure represents 89 percent of all key provincial-level projects in the city, which include the construction of the Jiaxing Culture and Arts Center, the relocation of the Haiyan County Maternal and Child Care Hospital, and the reconstruction of the Shanghai-Hangzhou highway in Xucun town.

Before construction resumed on the Jiaxing Culture and Arts Center, the local government sent workers to help the construction company make proper plans for resuming work and preventing infection.

The government workers also helped solve some major issues facing the project, including a shortage in raw materials and anti-epidemic supplies and difficulty in retrieving rural migrant workers currently outside Jiaxing.

On Feb 10, the Jiaxing municipal government began helping all provincial-level projects resume construction.

County-level governments in the city also did their best to help key local construction projects resume work.

The Haiyan county government provided 7,700 masks, 400 pairs of gloves, and 400 kilograms of disinfectant, among other anti-epidemic supplies, to eight local construction projects.

The Jiaxing Economic Development Zone issued work permits to employees of companies who have resumed operations to help them enter residential communities.

In just one week, many key projects in Jiaxing have managed to resume work. On Feb 17, 10 more projects resumed work, and on Feb 18, another 15 projects resumed work.

As of Feb 18, work on all key provincial-level projects in Nanhu district, Xiuzhou district, Haiyan county, Haining county-level city, Tongxiang county-level city, and the Jiaxing Port area had resumed.

The remaining five key provincial-level projects are expected to resume on Feb 19, two days earlier than the date designated by the provincial government.
