The 2020 Jiaxing International Marathon was postponed from March to October due to the COVID-19 outbreak in China earlier this year, Jiaxing Daily reported.

This year's event will be held online from October 25 to December 25.

The online event has no limits in terms of the number, gender, or place of origin of participants and includes a 3-kilometer parent-child run, 5.2-km run, 10-km run, 21.0975-km half marathon and 42.195-km full marathon.

Participants can sign up for the event from October 25 to December 24 and they must upload a map of their running route within a certain amount of time.

Those who have signed up for the offline 2020 Jiaxing International Marathon and do not withdraw their entry fees can participate in the 2021 Jiaxing International Marathon in no need of application.

In addition, 9.9 yuan ($1.46) of the entry fee from each participant will be donated to nonprofit organizations.

Runners will be invited to congratulate the Communist Party of China when signing up for the event to mark the 99th anniversary of its founding. Their messages will be recorded on online certificates of completion for commemoration.

Moreover, during the two-month event, experts in sports, bodybuilding, nutrition and emergency medicine will be invited to give online lectures to teach participants how best to exercise their bodies.
