Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province issued a notice on a price adjustment for COVID-19 nucleic acid testing on Dec 28.

According to the notice, the adjustment is applicable to all public medical institutions. Private medical institutions will follow the example of public hospitals in charging COVID-19 nucleic acid testing.

The notice states that since Jan 1, 2021, COVID-19 nucleic acid testing will be priced at 80 yuan ($12.25) per test, while both the novel coronavirus IgG antibody (including general antibody) testing and novel coronavirus IgM antibody testing will be priced at 20 yuan per test.

The fee can be paid with medical insurance by patients at fever clinics or those with visible symptoms of COVID-19.
