Jiaxing in East China's Zhejiang province has started providing free COVID-19 inoculations to all residents above the age of 18, according to the disease control and prevention office of the Jiaxing Municipal Health Commission on March 20.

Inoculations for people from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, overseas Chinese, and foreigners in the city will be available in the near future in accordance with the demands of the provincial government.

Previously, the vaccinations were limited to those who worked in high-risk areas or had plans to work or study abroad.

The vaccines being used in the city are made by either Sinopharm or Sinova, and recipients are required to take two shots two to four weeks apart.

Those previously infected with COVID-19 or who have severe allergies, severe chronic diseases, or nervous system diseases, as well as patients with immunodeficiency and women who are pregnant or breast feeding cannot receive the vaccine.
