First red tourism train arrives in Jiaxing from Shanghai

The "Nanhu Lake 1921" train, which is the first red tourism train in the Yangtze River Delta, departed Shanghai on June 25 and arrived in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province after more than one hour time, local media reported.

Over 1,000 passengers from Naqu county, Tibet autonomous region, Shanghai, and Jiaxing took the train to retrace the route taken by the delegates of the first National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

One hundred years ago, the CPC's first National Congress was convened in Shanghai and then was transferred to a floating boat on Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing.

The train connects red tourism spots in the two cities, including the Site of the First National Congress of the CPC in Shanghai, the Memorial Hall of the First National Congress of the CPC, the former site of Bowen Girls' School, the reconstructed Jiaxing Railway Station, the Red Boat on Nanhu Lake, and Nanhu Lake Revolutionary Memorial Hall.

In addition, two of the train's 10 compartments showcase old photos of Shanghai and Jiaxing, travel guides, postcards, commemorative stamps, as well as souvenir medals, while other compartments detail the development of the CPC from the first to the 19th National Congress.

The train departs Shanghaixi Railway Station at 8:48 am and arrives at Jiaxing Railway Station at 10:01 am each day. It returns from Jiaxing at 6:10 pm and arrives at Shanghaixi Railway Station at 7:38 pm each day.
