Jiaxing appeals for more high-profile talent
An online job fair for high-level overseas talent commenced in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, on March 10, local media reported.
The job fair includes one news conference and nine live-broadcasting interviews which will be held once a month from March 10 to Nov 10.
The first group of 27 universities, companies, and institutes in Jiaxing have offered more than 1,000 jobs related to the digital economy, life health and new materials. These jobs have an average annual salary of 400,000 yuan ($63,000) and more than 70 percent of them are for those with a doctor's degree.
Recruiters and job hunters can publish the job requirements via the WeChat applet "haipinhui". Once both sides reach a consensus, online interviews can be carried out to determine whether an offline interview is required.
Overseas job hunters with a master's degree or above who are invited to attend an offline interview in Jiaxing will receive a traffic subsidy of up to 5,000 yuan and enjoy a free stay in the city. They can also experience more than 50 preferential services related to sightseeing, catering, and shopping in the city.
High-level overseas talent who pass the offline job interview will receive a house purchasing subsidy of up to 350,000 yuan, a living subsidy of up to 60,000 yuan, and an extra monthly wage allowance of up to 1,000 yuan after they start working in Jiaxing.
People with a doctor's degree who pass the offline job interview and work at the postdoctoral center in Jiaxing will receive a subsidy of 500,000 yuan over the following two years.
Jiaxing has had one of the highest inflow of medium and high-level talent in China for many years. As of the end of 2021, the city was home to 3,003 high-tech companies.
