Great Wall Motor produces car in 198 sec
Great Wall Motor sold 518,525 new cars in the first half of this year, local media reported on July 31.
In June, 101,186 new cars were sold, a month-on-month increase of 26.38 percent.
A car is composed of more than 30,000 parts and components. At Great Wall, a car is produced every 198 seconds, and more than 100 cars can be produced in one day, according to Sun Zhigang, deputy general manager of the Pinghu branch of Great Wall Motor.

This high-speed production can be attributed to the company's automatic production line.
In the workshop, material transmissions are produced entirely by robots, which ensures production safety and improves efficiency. Equipment such as presses, waste conveyor belts and cranes all make use of intelligent digital acquisition control, realizing effective collaborative operations.
This year, to guarantee the production of traditional energy vehicles, the company completed the arrangement of a new energy production line in just over 20 days, realizing the production of traditional energy and new energy vehicles on the same line.
In addition, the Pinghu production base of Great Wall Motor saves about 200 metric tons of paint every year and reduces VOC emissions by about 40 tons, realizing sustainable development.
