Lishui writer wins famous Chinese literary award

Winners of the third Maodun Literary Newcomer Awards were recently announced. Jiang Lizi, a young writer from Lishui, Zhejiang province, along with another nine online writers, was recognized for her achievements in online literature.
Jiang is the first writer from Lishui to win the Maodun Literary Newcomer Award.
The Maodun Literary Newcomer Award, in honor of famous Chinese writer Mao Dun, was established by the Chinese Literature Foundation in 2015 to award outstanding young Chinese writers and promote the development of contemporary Chinese literature.
Jiang, born in 1985, is member of the China Writers Association, Drama, Film and Literature Committee of the Zhejiang Writers Association, and council of the Zhejiang Online Writers Association as well as vice-chair of the Lishui Writers Association.
"My parents were my first teachers," said Jiang. Jiang's father is a literature lover while her mother is a teacher.
Jiang published her first novel at 19 years old and began writing online literature when she was a freshman in college.
Many of Jiang's works have been awarded at the provincial and national levels, and one was even adapted into a radio play. Her works are popular due to their depiction of the real life struggles of common people.
