Jingwen Expressway, which will link Jingning county in Lishui and Wencheng county in Wenzhou in Zhejiang province, is scheduled to open in 2021, local media reported recently.

Jingwen Expressway will be about 68 kilometers long with a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour. The expressway adopts the standard design of a two-way four-lane expressway, with investment of 13.7 billion yuan ($1.94 billion).

After completion, the expressway will improve the expressway network in southwest Zhejiang, improve traffic conditions in Jingning and Wencheng, thus driving regional economic and social development.

At present, it takes about two and a half hours to drive from Jingning to Wencheng, and the journey will be shortened to about an hour after the completion of Jingwen Expressway.
