Suichang among 100 greenest counties in China
Insight China magazine, together with a number of national authorities and professional institutions, launched the list of "the 100 greenest counties and cities in China in 2020", which comprehensively evaluates more than 2,000 administrative units in the country.
Suichang county in Lishui, East China's Zhejiang province, ranked 18th on the list, according to local media.
The result is based on six aspects – ecological environmental protection, urban greening project construction, resource utilization, green living, green production, and land and river management.
Located at the origin of Qiantang River and Oujiang River in southwest Zhejiang, Suichang is an important part of the national ecological demonstration zone.
The county has a forest coverage rate of 82.3 percent, among the highest in Zhejiang. It also has a primitive forest rare in East China, Jiulong Mountain national nature reserve, and the only forest park named after a county in China – Suichang national forest park.
