Zhejiang uses Internet Plus to promote agriculture upgrading

Zhejiang province recently issued some opinions on the promotion of rural agricultural products into cities through Internet Plus, which will further promote the transformation and upgrading of agriculture and help farmers increase their incomes.

The opinions proposed eight key tasks: strengthening the construction of infrastructure in production areas, focusing on the quality of agricultural products brand construction, comprehensively promoting the trace management of agricultural products' quality and safety, and promoting the construction of agricultural products storage and cold chain facilities.

According to the opinions, by 2022, the 11 cities in Zhejiang will have chosen more than one county (county-level cities, districts) to carry out pilot demonstrations. They will focuses on tasks such as the construction of agricultural products supply chains, development of characteristic agricultural products big data, and innovation of platform service business models, to develop a number of replicable and promotable models, regulations and policy systems.

It is expected that by 2022, Zhejiang will have achieved online retail sales of agricultural products of more than 120 billion yuan ($17.18 billion), and achieved 100 percent coverage of township network sales and service outlets.
