Lishui development zone turns crisis into opportunity
Zhejiang Apex Energy Technology Co Ltd – located in Lishui Economic and Technological Development Zone in Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – recently received an order for supercapacitor carbon products from South Korea's leading supercapacitor manufacturer, according to a company spokesman.
Since the start of the year, Apex has invested more than 10 million yuan ($1.48 million) to upgrade its production lines and improve the quality of its products to meet the needs of international markets, such as South Korea.
From January to July this year, the company's total exports to overseas markets grew by 34.93 percent year-on-year.
"The international economic and trade environment is not ideal, so we should try our best to find and create new opportunities," said Fan Kefeng, sales director of Apex.
Chen Fengming, director of the economic and trade bureau of the development zone, said to do well in the current conditions was still possible.
"To develop both domestic and international markets in a coordinated way requires long-term planning and policy support," he said.
Chen said that the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has spurred innovative development by companies and some of them had turned the crisis into an opportunity.
At Zhejiang Lishui Jingrui Bearing Manufacturing Co Ltd, another company in the development zone, 200 machines are currently running at full capacity and working overtime to complete an order for 1.5 million sets.
Zhao Xiaojun, chairman of Jingrui, said that the development zone had played a positive role in preventing risks and turning problems into opportunities in the supply chain for rolling components.
