Jinbaoshan village in Jingning She autonomous county, Zhejiang province, located at an altitude of more than 800 meters, is looking for an effective development model which will help it overcome the challenges posed by being located in a mountainous area.

The village, which has five sub-villages and a population of over 1,300, is located over 30 kilometers away from the county center and has struggled with industrial development due to its remote location and undeveloped transportation.

To overcome this, local authorities have taken steps to attract projects and encourage people to start businesses in the village.

Liu Zongnan, owner of a local farm, moved away from the village at the age of 13 and grew into a successful businessman operating five supermarkets in Xi'an, Shaanxi province after years of hard work.

He returned to Jinbaoshan village in 2014 and decided to stay there after seeing the improved environment and infrastructure. With 10 million yuan ($1.48 million), Liu opened a farm in the village and insisted on finding an eco-friendly way to operate it.

The farm uses a recycling development model that converts pig excrement into natural fertilizer for the growing of fruits and herbs in the farm, which has proved to be an effective way to develop Liu's business and protect the ecology and land resources at the same time.

Currently, Liu and his team are working on the second phase of the farm. In the future, they plan to come up with more measures to develop agriculture and other eco-friendly industries as well as improve land quality and protect the environment.
