The demand for rail travel in Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province is on the rise since the opening of the Quzhou-Ningde Railway – which runs through Suichang, Songyang and Qingyuan counties and the county-level city of Longquan – according to officials.

They said that in order to better meet the travel needs of locals, Songyang county launched a dedicated Songyang-Ningde tourist train on Oct 12.

"A total of 350 tourists set off from Songyang Station today," said Jin Xiaojie, general manager of the Songyang County Tourism Distribution Center.

"The main destination of the tour is Xiapu county in Ningde, in Fujian province and we are looking forward to the beaches and the seafood there," Jin added.

Before the opening of the Quzhou-Ningde Railway, Songyang  negotiated with Longquan and Suichang to open a special tourist train, so more people could experience the scenery along the railway.
