A forum focusing on the integrated development of industry and education in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region was held in Lishui city – in East China's Zhejiang province on Oct 24-25 – according to local media reports.

During the forum, education experts and teachers from the YRD region participated in a think tank on the development of Lishui's vocational education.

In addition, Lishui forged cooperation agreements with a number of vocational schools in the YRD region, according to local officials.

The Institute for Vocational Education of Tongji University and Lishui Education Bureau signed a Letter of Intent for Cooperation on Vocational Education Reform and Innovation and Vocational Education Teacher Team Construction.

Officials said that in order to speed up the establishment of a modern vocational education system to Lishui's own needs, in recent years the city has taken advantage of the national strategy for YRD integrated development.

They said the city has established links with East China Normal University and Tongji University to introduce more quality education resources.
