Songyang county, located in Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province, has continued along the road to rural revitalization, driven by culture in recent years, according to local officials.

The county held its second Comic Strip Art Festival & 13th Farmers' Cultural Festival recently. More than 50 comic strip artists and collectors gathered in Lixi village, in Songyang.

"Songyang's landscape and culture inspire artists in Shanghai and their works have introduced the county to the world," said Chen Zhiqiang, chairman of the literary and art association of Shanghai's Minhang district.

"The exchanges and cooperation between the two sides are not only a kind of cultural interaction, but also a sign of our integrated culture in the Yangtze River Delta region," Chen added.

There is a comic strip art gallery in Lixi village and seven artists have established art studios in the gallery to date, according to curator Shao Yanshan.

He said that the gallery has received tens of thousands of visitors since last year, most of whom are tourists from other places. The village is now developing homestay facilities to match the increasing tourist flow.

Other villages in Songyang county, such as Doumi'ao village, are also giving full play to the charms of ancient dwellings and other traditional resources to receive the cultural dividend, according to county officials.
